Steve was drifting off to sleep, but still scrolling. He had a gmail he would use here there for stuff. Mostly the raffles at work. A lot times at night he would just keep pulling his thumb down to refresh the page. Nothing really ever happened but a spinning thing at the top. He kept doing it. Sometimes a spam message would come through, or some ad to sign up for this. Or that sandwich shops loyalty program. 10 more sandwiches and you get 20% off. Like he'd ever be back there. Him and tome drove north once to Colorado. They were starving, and had like 12 dollars between them so they split a sub. The guy at the counter explained to them it was like subway, but with real vegetables. Like a Chipotle, but for sandwiches. They didn't care. It was the only spot they saw. They got everything on it, mouths watering, and the kept making sure that didn't cost extra. The sales tax they mentally tacked on. Right at the end the guy asked him for his email. Said its a good deal. It never is though is it. He pulled his thumb down on the screen, laying face down looking with one eye. 1 Mississippi 2 Mississippi 3... He got a new email. In the subject just How's it going? Who was this he thought, and up the name red tomtom234.
