Marianna was in the parking lot of the the next day. She got there around noon. She wanted to come earlier, but she felt it would be too weird. Rather to slip in while it was busy. The same Subaru was in the lot. This time it was parked under a tree. The shadow keeping the car cool, at least for a few hours. There were other cars speckled around the lot, but for this time of day it was slow.
Marianna had know who made the eggs. Had to meet the person. She also quieted questions in her head, did he know her mom? Were they from the same town?
Now she knew he got there early, and was a cook.
While she was sitting in her car another pulled up in front of her, the license plate said MAXXX.
And at noticing this she blurt out laughing. That was the first time she laughed since he mom died. She quickly covered her mouth. If she had a best friend, she would take a picture of it and send it to them. She thought about Keith, but now he wouldn't even have access to his phone.
She tried anyway to take a picture, and just as she did a younger guy got out of the car. Dressed like a cook, clean shaven, and a bit too awkward to have a license plate like that. She thought if she describe this to Keith he wouldn't believe it. She dropped her phone. Then lifted it up again pretending to find signal.
Max didn't even notice his headphones were in and it was time to work.
