I'll give you concerts. I miss them, actually. I've seen my share of legendary artists/bands live: U2, The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart, Stevie Nicks, Sting, to name a few. No audio or video recording can possibly match the energy and experience of being there live and in person.
Other than a live concert, what is so special about live content for the audience? Everyone is crowing about Clubhouse as the next big thing. We already had FB Live and Instagram Live, and what's so great about the experience for the audience? The first several minutes are always wasted on testing to see who can see you and who can hear you and acknowledgment of people in the chat. Who cares about any of that?
The other problem with live content is that if you aren't there at the beginning, you miss out. It would be like starting a movie 20 minutes in. On top of that, I don't know whether it's going to be boring or not. If I'm listening to a podcast or audiobook and it's boring, I can skip ahead and see if it gets any better. With live content, you have to suffer through it all. And who has the time to sit uninterrupted for an hour or more to listen or watch some live event?
I'll take a recording so that I can listen on my timetable. It was only live and no recording? Oh well. I'm not worried about it.

In physical social interactions you can just buy booze and drink at home for much cheaper. But some people prefer to hit the bar because of the open ended nature. You and your friends might run into some friends you already know at the bar. Or you might meet someone new and make new friends.
Live + public events like those on Clubhouse tap into the same feeling. My opinion haha.
Similar to how a lot of maker communities are more interesting to other makers who want a behind the curtains looks, I believe things like ClubHouse are more appealing to other people who want to be future Navals lol
