Buon Appetito

as reply to definitive

He was warming up a pizza. The oven he thought was a superior method, he didn't really know anyone who microwaved it. Although, sometimes he would hear friends talk about doing that for just one slice. He had an oven with a little light. He would usually leave it off, but if he was alone he would turn it on and watch the pizza come into being. He had stopped making dough like a year ago, said it takes too much time. Then he stopped last month making the sauce the way his grandfather liked it. To be honest lately he just bought it from the store. He insisted on this one frozen one, then he'd buy a nice cheese to go on top so he was still sort of cooking. At this point of his life things had been taking off. Working for the family businesses they were expanding. After his grandfather had died thats all his dad wanted to do. Reduce the recipe to simple steps, get hotter ovens, make a pizza in 2 min or less. Fine he thought, as he watched the cheese melt, and the oil start to show, just fine. Just gotta stay focused like his grandpa used to tell him, just focus on the things you can control and the rest just falls into place. The crust rose high and just part of it was charring now, he took it out of the oven with a flourish, putting the fancy cheese on it, and cutting it slices. Buon appetito he said out loud, but no one responded.

This de-evolution from making
pizza
from scratch to buying frozen is hilarious.
