Derek usually didn't dream, or at least when he woke up he didn't remember. This morning was different.
He was in a sort of roman coliseum, at the edge looking down. He was the only one there, besides the actors. Down below was scene. Like a community production of Romeo and Juliet. The lights came on and there was just two people on stage. One laying on the ground, looking dead, and one knelt next to them cradling their head.
They looked so sad from where Derek was standing, but maybe in love he thought.
He tried to get their attention. He yelled and hollered, but they didn't look up. The one kneeling was saying something, but he couldn't hear.
When he woke up the sun was peaking around the corners of his blinds. Bright beams of light showed against the walls.
His wife was already up, she was on her phone. Laughing to herself quietly.
"I hope I didn't wake you up. "
She brushed the hair off his forehead.
"Someone was dreaming, sorry I was laughing, do you remember this guy?"
She put the phone in his face, the blue light brighter than the beams of light.
"Do you remember him? The Blue Man? So silly. How can he move like that?"
Derek's face flushed and his heart beat faster.
"That was that guy! The guy at Stan's"
Dereks girlfriend gave him an incredulous look.
"This guys dead Derek, remember."
"I know what I saw Angela, it was him."
"Yeah, but remember that one time you thought the bartender was from your high school, and he grew up in China?" Angela laughed.
"Don't worry about it Derek, it was a rough day."
