"I could use a charge."

Max said. Taking his phone out gesturing.

"Better than charging this with the car. Its just burning gas so I can send some texts."

Keith didn't respond, but made a face and nodded. To him that was reasonable, why would you burn gas just to send some texts?

The library was up a hill, bright like a lighthouse. Inside were some older timers, but it seemed busier than it should be. Much louder.

"Theres some tea and coffee over there." So lady said as soon as they walked in.

"The charging stations are over here." Another lady crooned.

It looked like to Keith they were set up to help people that lost power. Such a strange place. Keith in his home town didn't have a library or didn't go to one.

"All these books are free?"He said.

"Well kind of, I guess, idk I mostly come here to charge my phone. " Max said.

"But its nice like pretty quiet usually open before my shift. So thats cool "

He plugged his phone in and sat down.

"OOOoooh its nice to sit. Im getting old. "

Keith just looked around, taking it all in.

"You think every book has been read?"

"What, yeah probably."

"Its insane." Keith said, and walked down rows, and different sections.

Other people he watched wondering why they were here. He tried to figure out whether the storm brought them here, or if this was their usual spot. He recognized one, that girl from the
Ethiopian
 place.
