Today I committed a cardinal sin of the hairdressers.
I changed barbers.
While most of the time its fine, maybe awkward if its across the street. In most vllages, towns, or cities there be enough people. No one would notice.
I changed within in the same shop.
I should defend myself with I just wanted to change things up, the other guy was fine, and I just had to see whose out there.
Luis my normal guy, for at least 5 haircuts, checked me in.
"Hello again, your normal..." His eyes went down and saw my name paired with another, Yannis.
He looked back up at me, his eyes squinted.
"That'l just be a moment."
Here I knew I was caught, he knew everything, and he took it terribly.
Maybe he had to calm down, maybe he was hurt, regardless h e disappears for a few minutes, and doesn't say a word to Yannis.
All the while I have to sit on the couch, staring at him. He's got the time, the capacity, but he says nothing, I chose Yannis and I must be punished for it.
A new guy walks in from the street, no appointment, Luis welcomes him with open arms, like he's known him all his life.
His usual stone faced facade melted away to a jovial smile.
He tossed a few glances back at me still waiting for Yannis who was never told.
A chump. I just sat there, obedient, polite, Luis knew I would never speak up. He had me up against a wall.
Until finally Luis called Yannis, "your 4 O'clocks here"
It was 4:15.
Luis 1 me 0.
