Waste

as reply to The Zone

Soon Dale was in the zone. Like butter melting on warm bread, he fell into his usual rhythm. He could keep this up for a few hours then he’d take out the trash. An order of 50 burgers came in, some sort of birthday party he thought. Then got to work. Placing the cold pucks of meat on the grill then toasting the bread while those cooked. It should be easy he could manage about 8 per  30 seconds if everything was right. He told the new guy to start with the sauces “just make sure they are full.” So
Etching he couldn’t mess up. Once it started it was like a row of dominoes being pushed over. Gravity naturally took over and he found the burgers just flying by.

“Dude your like 5 people.” The new guy said.

Dale gave a polite smile but kept going, starting the fryer for the chicken nuggets. After lunch came the vacationers fresh from the highway always ordering multiple things.

2 20 piece came on the screen. Then another one minute later. He threw another bag him and started making burgers. But not too many he thought he didn’t want to go over. He hated waste.
