Cold and Blinding Spacecity

as reply to keith learns a lesson

Keith lay now on the bathroom floor. Why was he here again? He didn't know, nothing made sense to him in this made-up world. For a long time he thought the world was fair. When he was young especially. Even after his mom moved away, and there was all the shit with her job. He still thought life was fair, like there was some kind of karma.

Even
Spacecity
made him feel something. Something different than fairness, but atleast there life had rules. There were protocols to follow and if you didn't things didn't work out something bad happened.

But now there were no protocols, no rules, it was just how it was. Laying on this floor, he felt cold. He knew that outside was dark. There was cold air blowing under the door, but now the lights turned on. The first few seconds were always blinding, then he was uncomfortable, then he got used to it.

It was like when his mom used to get him up for school. Now he just wanted to stay in bed, under the covers, in darkness. But she would do the same. The light was always blinding and the covers were ripped off. He remembers most mornings as cold and blinding.
