“The seaside rest, its the place that knows you best.”
“The seaside rest, it’s where you’ll love to rest.”
A speaker changed from the song to scan to the next station. The car is driving east on a desert road.
“Kendrick and Drake feud continues into a fourth week with their words turning violent.”
A woman scans the next radio station.
“They not like us they not like us.”
She scanned again.
“Isn’t it more, we’re not like them?”
She scans again.
“We’re back with weather at 11 where we tell you the weather at 11.”
She scans again. This one taking longer.
“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.” Started to play. And she kept it there. From her purse she pulled out a cigarette.
She lit it and the flame shown off the reflection of her sunglasses.
“Fuck this.” She said. Slamming on the breaks. There wasn’t car in sight. She slammed the car in reverse and slammed it forward turning around.
She headed back west. The gas pedal slammed to the ground.
To the Seaside rest.
