His Book

Before medical school Johnny had never worked. Before he was a doctor he had never worked. It was always studying which was nice. Sometimes he would catch himself wanting to go back. Those days were the good days he'd say to himself.

He liked all the care there was. His mom mapped out everything she thought about what he would eat when he got home, she thought about snacks, she planned the dinner to make sure he got enough protein. Then she even thought about his car, the tires were always knew, the oil changed.. He couldn't remember a time where he had to pump his own gas.

Years later now its like every week sometimes two times a week, if he picks up shifts.

He missed all that though, the care. It was why some people got married he thought. Like they missed that so much they'd just find another mother, and move in with them. He didn't mind it now. His laundry even he would do now he liked it. His current apartment had only one flaw, it didn't have a laundry machine. So he would have to walk down the street to do it.

At least he didn't have to drive like 20 minutes or something. Some people at the laundy place would do that. He called them the campers. They'd stay for hours, washing everything, drying everything. He always just had one load. All in all it took about an hour. So he had time to read his book.
