No Doubt

as reply to guilty sadness

There was a slight breeze. Howards skin still had the feel like it was summer. Almost hot from the sun earlier the breeze felt nice.

"You know what you're gunna do?" Chuck asked, taking a drag from his cigarette.

"Not a clue man, I think. I uh I'll probably uh I was looking at some places around here for a bit."

"Yeah, yeah. Its a good spot." Chuck said. But he said it in a way an old rancher would say after selling the family farm. Like he had seen it all already. Like the entirety of his life had happened here. And this new person was getting it inheriting it.

"But I also might have to move back home for a bit. We'll see what they're doing you know." Howard said.

The they he was referring to was the housemates. Each one more flaky than the last, but still good to have around. They knew every thing about each other. Who they were sleeping with and who they had slept with. Many nights Pete would try to go through the whole room the big list he'd call it.

"Don't count on them." Chuck said laughing. Inside you could see the other two talking in the kitchen. A solemn event and they were bickering. You could tell. Something stupid no doubt.
