He wasn’t his normal self there. There were all sorts of lights and accents and people moving this way and that. Even on a side street people used areas to piss and get drunk. 

Everywhere he turned it felt like houses would be pubs. Even the costs were rising. Nothing though felt like home. There was a coming and going but the pace didn’t match. He imagined all of the people on the tube leaving and dispersing out through the city and it scared him. He imagined them walking different directions like a sort of spider web from the part of the city he was at with him in the center. He thought of everyone climbing up their stairs and opening their doors he imagined everyone climbing into their own beds. He imagined their whole lives.
