Quite a number of Jobs today are new. At least in Tech.
Product Manager is one of them. Yeah right, I know there's an argument it's been around for a while, but it's still fresh nonetheless.
In my first week as one, I learnt that...
there is no manual. But the knowledge is scattered across the web in blogs, tweets, newsletter archives etc, so you have to dig for it.
That reality dawned on me fully when I needed to come with a Product Requirement Documents. I never knew it would need a sketch/wireframe of the ideas I had in mind. And come to think of it, How do I expect the designer to work without a sketch?
By the way, because of the nascency of the job role, the majority of the information on the web are opinionated. So beyond reading the blogs and tweets, you would really have to think through for your specific needs.
I guess I was just shocked there's no manual.
