To get everyone up to speed, I spent a lot of time and effort in improving my sleep. After two years of traveling across the country for work, my sleep was absolutely wrecked. I am happy to say that since I have been working from home full time, I have my sleep absolutely dialed in. I wake up and go to bed at the same time every day, seven days a week. I don't use an alarm to wake up. I don't have issues with falling asleep, and I have managed to minimize nighttime wake-ups. How I got here is a topic for another time, but I wrote about my experience in this issue of my newsletter.
Sleeping on the road can be challenging, so I was looking forward to this test to see how well I can manage with the two-hour time change and different sleeping environment.
My Oura ring tracks my sleep, evaluates all the data, and produces a daily sleep score. A sleep score of 85 or above is considered great sleep. Starting in September, I have a general increasing trend in my sleep score:
September: 86
October: 87
November: 89
December: 90
For the last two weeks, my weekly score average was 89 and 92 respectively. I average between 7.5 and 8 hours of total sleep time, and this duration did not change on vacation.
In summary, I had excellent sleep while on vacation.
