Find Your Tribe

I believe your tribe can be found in three persons Jane, John and Zendaya.

Jane is someone who has lived your dreams. Jane may or may not be older than you but she has a way of inspiring you. Her words and counsel make you feel your dream is valid, it is achievable. It's like she's hand-holding you into her experience which is your own dream.

John is pretty much like a contemporary. John is not necessarily your age mate, you guys share the same purpose, passion and dreams. You learn together, bounce ideas off each other, celebrate little/big wins together, comfort each other during the down season. John is someone you can call any time of the day or in the dead of the night. Both of you have skipped school classes to attend to "passion". Both of you have pooled resources to attend a conference, buy self-improvement material etc.

Zendaya is the one who thinks you're the best thing since sliced bread. She receives your words with the same awe and appreciation you receive Jane's words. In most instances, Zendaya is usually younger than you. She finds inspiration and strength from your words.

Yo man, you need Jane, John & Zendaya equally. You don't have to go around looking for them. If you're growing in life and you're making friends you'd find them.
I like how 2 of the 3 are females Seun.

Interestingly, I know 3 people that fit this profile to the tee.

I love how you show this idea in this post, Seun. You've been getting quite creative and experimental with your writing these days.

I also subscribe to this line of thought. In a more clinical and less storytelling manner it's the 33/33/33 rule.

Interact with 1/3 of people who look up to you and you mentor.

1/3 of people with fellow cohorts.

1/3 of people who mentor you.

I do myself a disservice by living in a way that holds me back from the last 1/3
