June 2021 Review:
The GOOD:
- Got back to semi productivity. Made a list of the important things and got a lot done. Still not at the pace I would like but I am liking the pattern.
- Reading has been going well as well. Scott Adams had my attention for most of the month. I have listened to the same book by him repeatedly. Especially the areas that I know I need to have sink in. And happy to say that I am putting some of those things into practice. I also read the placebo effect from start to end for a second time. Again - putting the things to practice this time. So I like the reading and putting to practice part of June.
- Health overall has been improving. Getting sugars, diet and sleep are relatively predictable and steady. Having more control over how much stress I am exposed to and limiting the negativity from coming into my life has helped a lot.
The Need to Work on:
Though it wasn’t new, I discovered a few things I should pay attention to health wise…LIVER. Thanks to Brandon’s sharing of his latest book, I know I need to pay attention and take care of it. I am sure that after reading more and knowing what to do, I will do whatever is needed. Just found out about this less than a week ago. Better late than never.- Energy isn’t always optimal - Because I am paying attention to what affects my energy, I am observing what affects it. I am also seeing that a lot of things have to be controlled for my energy to be optimal. Maybe the secret isn’t controlling the variables but knowing what to do when things aren’t going my way. To that end - music and WeWork may do the trick going forward.
- Systems not in place - Scott Adams talks about the need for systems. I am actively working on creating systems but I have discovered that it is a complex process. I have to know the variables, I have to know what affects them, I have to know what is the best process and how to automate. Not easy to do. I am working on an optimal energy system, health system, sleep system and a few personal ones. I have come up with a writing system during the echo 6 week class. And that felt great to outline but I need to finetune it and put it to practice.
For July 2021:
I want to keep the good from June. They weren’t easy and I don’t want to change that.
I want to continue working on the systems I started on in June.
I want to get back to experiencing the butterfly moments. They have been missing in my life for sometime and now that I can go outdoors, I have no excuse.
I signed up for WeWork today. I got a 1 month free trial until August 1st so this is the best experiment for seeing if WeWork can still help me do magic.
Though I haven’t signed up yet, I have also been thinking about the gym. I miss the group classes and swimming laps I used to do. I have a suspicion that I would try to get a guest pass and see how that would work with my health.
Things are moving.
June was ok… better than the month before. July will be better.
