At the deepest level writers don't enjoy the craft because it allows them to express. That is a side effect. But the everlasting fuel is that of discovery.
The writer who writes to discover is the one who will never question "why am i doing this?" or "what should I write?"
Before facing the page this was the idea that I wanted to discover. I've discovered it already earlier this week, but I discover it again after trying to think what creative fiction snippet I should write. Once you begin thinking too much is when you know you're not actually writing the thing you actually want to write.
