I was wrapping gifts with my mom earlier today.
We decided a while back that we-the adults will not exchange gifts for Christmas. It wasn't something we grew up with so we mutually decided not to start. But the kids, they get gifts. From all of us.
So while we were wrapping the gifts, we were discussing if we should wrap it or not. We have had this debate before. Should we invest time and money to nicely wrap the presents that will be ripped open in a matter of seconds? Or should we just give them the presents in a nice looking bag?
I always opt for wrapping. From what I have noticed, a majority of the joy is the unwrapping part. The anticipation of what it could be. Just taking out the present as is from a bag, takes away the best part.
So we bought the cheap gift wrappers and once again put all the gifts in a nice wrap.
