I made a batch of Bulletproof coffee this morning for the first time in a week. For the last four days, I had access to what can only be described as a spectacular breakfast buffet.
When I booked the reservation, I noticed there was a breakfast package option. It wasn't that much more to upgrade from the standard option, so I figured I would take the chance. The hotel probably gambles that you won't go to the buffet every morning, and if you do, you won't eat your money's worth. If you were to pay for the buffet separately, it was $65 for two people.
Without question, the breakfast buffet at the Sunrise Cafe was one of the best breakfast buffets I have experienced. The cafe offers indoor and outdoor seating with fantastic views of the ocean. The food was presented in a large room with multiple stations along the walls and a table in the middle with additional offerings. The first thing I noticed was a machine that produced literal fresh-squeezed orange juice. It had a giant hopper for oranges on top. Once you placed a glass and hit the button, it peeled and squeezed oranges two at a time to provide the freshest OJ you can imagine. There were also several other juices, but no time for any of those.
Along the wall opposite the entrance was the main row of breakfast staples. Biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs, grits, pancakes, french toast, bacon, and sausage. There was an oatmeal bar with all the fixings. There was also a yogurt station with many options. There was cereal for the kiddies because you know they can't get enough cereal. There was an area with fresh fruit (if you must).
On the east end of the room was an omelet station with a cook who would prepare an omelet with whatever proteins, veggies (if you must), and cheese you like. I heard several people request an egg-white omelet. Seems like a waste to me. Nature provided the whole egg. Why are you separating it? One morning I ordered a sausage, bacon, and cheddar cheese omelet and it was very tasty.
The center table was mostly all carbs. There was a crusty bread loaf ready to be sliced and made into toast. There were English muffins, bagels, croissants, muffins, and peanut butter, whipped butter, fresh jams, and even honey that dripped directly from a honeycomb. There were cured meats including smoked salmon and cheeses.
I'm definitely not used to such consumption for breakfast. Low-carb was definitely out the window. But hey, vacations are few and far between for me and a component of the Be Wellthy lifestyle is to enjoy life, which includes dietary indulgences on occasion.

I thought it was obvious how much more that upgrade cost
