The Church of Twitter has never served me one single ad that I am interested in. The latest one I saw this morning crowed the following: "The moment you've been waiting for is here. The Winter Olympics begin tonight on NBC and Peacock." I recognize NBC, but what's this Peacock?? Let me guess. It's ANOTHER streaming service I'm supposed to pay for. I'll pass on that one.
I have minimal interest in the Summer Olympics and absolutely zero interest in the Winter Olympics. As I have asked in many podcast episodes, "Who cares?!?!"
I'm not a sports fan in general. I am always uncomfortable when I'm in a situation of small talk with guys who insist on talking about some football, baseball, or basketball game. I go radio silent because I have no input. My lack of interest in sports extends to the Olympics. The last time I was even remotely interested in the Olympics is when they had something called the Dream Team.
I'm not an athlete and never played any traditional team sports. I cannot relate to them. What I can relate to is any game played in a bar. I'll watch billiard, dart, and poker tournaments all day because I can actually play those games. I can evaluate just how good someone is because I have my own experience.
