I was talking to a chemist today, and I should say he isn’t like most chemists, he is a wizard.
Many people in the lab, me included ,are just amazed at what he can create as well as what he comes up with. Solutions that I wouldn’t dream of he does in a week. Problems I didn’t know were there he sees before, and already solves them. It’s a combination of time spent but also a love for craft. He talks about molecules being beautiful, and has told me some that he has been the most proud to create.
Part of a career like that is you also get to see the ups and downs of chemistry the trends that were hot in the 90s that people have fully abandoned now. We were talking a lot today, about things we can resurrect that maybe didn’t work when they were first pitched, but good do a lot of good now. A lot of technologies or chemistries didn’t fall out of the common thought because they were just bad. But we can only in a fade cycle keep so much in our heads. So maybe one year glucose is big the next year its urea. Just like avril levine or taylor swift.
This is the same with a lot of ideas, we have ourselves for projects, and also recipes for cooking.
Its nice though to write these down, then when you look back through them you might find some good ones.
So very close.
