Outage cafe sun coffee barista caffeine credit cards Ginger Dragon ginger lemon honey World War II

When he entered the
cafe
, it was shadowed. Not dark, the
sun
's light made its way, filtered, to the main area where people were seated.

People were conversing, in hushed tones, now that the music was off. The person at the counter couldn't buy their
coffee
. The
barista
told them that they couldn't process any
credit cards
right now. I mean that should've been obvious given the power was off no?

I was able to luckily buy myself a drink. It was quite late already so I didn't want to grab anything with
caffeine
. Instead I got the
Ginger Dragon
: grated
ginger
lemon
, and
honey
in hot water. Delicious.

I sat and listened to the people through the side of my head, as my eyes stared out to the outside. It felt beautiful that the power was out. I felt like we were back in a past time.
World War II
, under Churchill's rule or something like that. And we knew that the outage wouldn't last forever.

Maybe that's what it made this all feel so beautiful. So enjoyable. Because we knew it wouldn't last.
