Sleeping Beauty

Saw a ballet today, sleeping beauty. I didn't realize things about it. That it's a strange form of art, everyone smiling and dancing to old Russian music, but also this one in particular has a bunch of other stories inside of it. Such as little red riding hood, and the cat in boots. Its strangeness though, I think comes from the fact that this is what people used as entertainment, it seems very historical to see, and I wonder if people back in the day would see it and say that it's the same.

The show also reminded me of how nice it is when people just do things that they enjoy. Not because they are good, but they were just interesting.

The show was mostly amateurs, a few who would have been professional, but because of life and injuries couldn't pursue anything. But the show was primarily amateurs students and other people in the city. Some have been dancing their whole life, some just picked it up because friends were there. Others, joined again after 30 years not dancing. One guy never danced in all of his 40 years. They are still were great, and engaged, and loved it. Its nice people do things they enjoy without trying to be the best.

Almost more interesting than people who are the best.
The secret here is that the best don't think of themselves as such. It's usually the unserious and insincere who are so obsessed with being 'the best' rather than 'their best'.

the secret here is what we
spectators
view as
the best
is actually just people who just doing their thing because they love it. without concern of being 'the best'
