One of the things that I admire about many of the Formula 1 team driver’s reactions to this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix is how specific their comments were with respect to what they needed to work on to perform better.
Lewis Hamilton identified rear downforce and straight-line speed as areas of improvement for his team.
Valtteri Bottas identified the problematic wheel spin at the beginning of the race as an area of improvement for his team.
Max Verstappen identified a lack of vehicle balance & stiffness in the steering as an area of improvement for his team.
These are people at the absolute top of their game who understand that being better isn’t just about resolve, it’s about having an incredibly clear understanding of what went and well what needs to change.
Progress is in the details.
