49 dollars was the amount they paid him, before he went three times.

Then it was only 38 dollars.

He could get more from referring his friends, but that was temporary. He'd have to refer more. And he'd run out of friends to refer because there was only so many people he knew.

He thought of this while sitting there one day with one hour left in the process, thinking, if he only had unlimited blood to give. Then he could make so much more off of his
plasma
. He could then buy his daughter the gifts she wanted. He wouldn't need to feel so tired from donating such a substantial part of himself. Because he'd have all the blood in the world... it would just be like a small cut rather than a draining excavation.

400 dollars was the amount the company sold each round of his plasma for. He wished he could sell it to the people directly. But then he was too tired.
