Morning

as reply to Package

Morning

the next morning as he sat on his couch answering emails and drinking his coffee he hard 3 loud knocks on his door. He walked over to the door and looked through the peep hole. this time there was somebody there. a tall woman with light brown skin probably in her mid-thirties. He opened the door and said "Uh.. hello". "Hey. You're the owner of PO Box 914. Right?" She said with a commanding voice. He just stared at her unable to form any words. "PO Box 914 from the post office? The guy there told me you were the owner".
"Well..." He managed to say
"The company I work for owns the box. I just pick up the mail".
"Okay. Here you go. I think this belongs to you. They put it in my box. 913" She reached into her bag and handed him a long skinny pink envelope.
"Uh.. Thanks. You didn't have to come all the way here during work hours".
"It doesn't matter. I don't work regular hours. Actually the real reason I came is because I've been expecting a package and I thought maybe they accidentally gave it to you. this new guy has been constantly mixing up my mail. Have you gotten some one else's mail by chance?" She looked into his eyes for the first time as she said this. she had large almond brown eyes. There was something striking about them besides their physical appearance. Very revealing yet secretive at the same time.
"Woah you sure got a lot of mail" She said as she broke eye contact and walked uninvited into his apartment.
"Yeah. I spilled some soup on them."
"Yeah they smell funny. Like chinese food" she said sniffing one.
"That box right there. I don't think it's mine. There was no markings on it. Actually I was gonna head over to the post office and return it."
She picked the box up and shook it, but no noise. "Hmmm. i bet this is mine." she said "Do you have any scissors?" She asked.
"yeah in my room. One sec"
"Actually I'll just use this knife she said as she began tearing open the box."
"Wait don't you think we should just.." He said but it was too late
Inside the box was a bunch of tightly packed and taped styroform. And after tearing through that a small shiny key fell on to the table.
"Damn. that's not what Ive been waiting for"
He grabbed his PO box key and placed it next to the new key. "Looks like the same kind"
"Yeah. guess so.." She said disappointingly. "well I gotta go. sorry for bothering you"
"Wait" he said. What kind of package were you expecting anyways?"
