In a meeting a few weeks ago, someone recommended a book to the rest of the meeting attendees. It is supposed to be a funny and thought provoking book about culture.
It was written by a Nigerian writer in 1975. The title is 'My Mercedes is bigger than yours'. I found the title by itself intriguing and I immediately set out to buy the book. It was available at amazon for $45 in hard cover. That seemed too high a price for a book so I kept looking on other websites. Apparently only the first edition of the book was ever printed so there aren't too many stores that have the book.
I was able to use goodreads.com to get a list of stores that usually carry most books. I got 3 options from $20-$200 for that titled. So I selected the $20 option and hoped for the best. Today the book arrived and it is as good as new. It will be the first time in a LONG time that I will be reading a paper book and not audio or kindle. But I am excited.
