Heardle

"I got today's Wordle in three tries."

"I haven't played in months."

"Why not? That's right up your alley."

"I was playing before it got sold off to the New York Times. Something got botched during the transition, and they screwed up my streak so that was the end of that."

"Who cares? It's just fun to play."

"You don't mess with my streak."

"What about Heardle?"

"Yep, I do that one. I got today's first try."

"I knew the song I just didn't know the name or the band."

"ZZ Top? That one was a gimme."

"My problem is I recognize songs, but I don't pay attention to the artists. I just know them from the radio. And yes, I know radio went out with powdered wigs."

"The problem with Heardle is it's feast or famine. I usually get it first or second try or I have no idea what the song is. They cycle in more recent songs by non-names, and I'm automatically out on those. I'm running about 60% correct."

"Shit I'm 10%. Most of them are no-names to me."

"There are no-names and non-names. With a no-name, at least it still has the dignity that it's a name, just one that nobody has heard of. A non-name needs its own classification."

"Ahh well I don't care about any of that. I just play for fun."
