Be First In Line

Get to Adagia by 1am PDT on a Monday and you're first in line. It's eerily quiet; inviting even.

It's 4pm in the Phillipine's, 6:10 pm on the Gold Coast of Australia, and still 2am for the sound sleepers in Arizona. So, what is everybody's excuse? What time do you write?

@jasonleow is trying to figure out timezones for lifelog, so this is an example of how timezones are weird. I wrote a couple of hours ago to hit the Sunday checkbox. Now, it's Monday, and I'm still up. It's fine. I'm fresh. I'm writing and enjoy the challenge. But, if I wanted to, I could take all the rest of today off 23 hours and 23 hours off of Tuesday - and still get my streak in after 46 hours. @therealbrandonwilson was wondering how that worked.

First In Line - is a good mantra. Why? How? and what's the benefit?

If you're first to the party, there's no awkwardness of walking in on a group of people staring at you. You can help set up and ingratiate yourself with the party host. On a writing platform - the developers appreciate when people use and value their tools.

How? Sure, we're busy, but if you cut out some of the entertainment and Twitter scrolling, you can prioritize and show up first.

Who am I kidding, I just happen to open the browser tab and Adagia was still open. It's luck. You get to be first in line when you're lucky.

The benefits of being first are twofold. The developer gets their site used and you get your checkmark for the day. The mental loop is closed and your fan(s) get something to read. Do your job right and you'll educate, inform, or in some other way edify your peers.
I'm the guy who does not like showing up at the restaurant first to coordinate seating arrangements for a group. I signed on early this morning and nothing creative comes to mind. I did notice you trying to distract me with streak talk so that I would not chastize you for keeping non-traditional hours. 😎
