Project Freedom Day 5 - The Tools Part 2

Thanks to a comment from

on my post from yesterday, mentioning that there are less expensive options to ClickFunnels, I went on a bit of a detour today to see what I could dig up.

Although my focus is to stay the course without taking too many detours, I felt it was a good idea to research what options exist for creating funnels outside of the grand daddy of funnel building in ClickFunnnels.  After all, these are the tools I'm going to be using on a daily basis, so might as well know the lay of the land.

What's interesting is that I may have found a solution that was right under my nose the entire time.  Tool number 3 yesterday was GetResponse. It turns out that GetResponse also has very similar funnel building functionality within their eco system that will allow me to do much of what ClickFunnels does (maybe without as many bells and whistles) to get up and running.

I believe there's value in being resourceful and focusing on one tool.  There's a learning curve to any new software, so instead of learning ClickFunnels and GetResponse at the same time, I like the idea of diving deeper and utilizing the full scope of  GetResponse.  Even if I sign up for the mid tier pricing level, it's half the cost of ClickFunnels and I get the email automation side at the same time.

The downside is that the course I'm in focuses on ClickFunnels as the funnel building tool.  I'll model what I'm learning about funnels, and utilize the training to determine if I want to get set up with ClickFunnels down the road. However, as I'm starting out, I believe GetResponse will be the way to go.

Sorry Russell Brunson.  You're going to have to step aside for now. But who knows what the future holds. I  may be back.

Another step closer to freedom.

It may serve you well to try and describe what a funnel is. My understand is that a funnel is simply a process of getting people from one level of understanding through an education and decision-making process to determine if your offer makes sense for them. If they do, they click the buy button and fall out the bottom of the funnel as a customer. The reason it's a funnel shape is because many people have to go in the top to get a few out the bottom.

So, what did Click Funnels create? Well, they made it easy to implement the web technologies required to put up images and create long pages where you can "convert" people with your sales pitch. Then, once they are ready, they can click and buy. This all-in-one solution makes sense. It's a great solution if your offer is good and it converts and you can start making money immediately.

I won't be satisfied until "Click Funnels" refers to a service where funnel cakes are delivered to my door at the click of a button.

Brian's elaboration on a funnel is pretty good. I think such elaboration is good -- so long as you're picking the right thing to elaborate -- because it helps you figure out the what/how/why of the thing being explained.
