I've never explicitly noted the colors of
streetlights
like Jack, but I have had many inspirations because of different streetlight colors.
One of the snippets I shared in our old
Writing Club
was inspired solely by the way the orange, tall street lights looked in one particular road connecting
Lansing
and
East Lansing
... I tried to create a scene where the college kids are heading back after a big meal at a
diner
-- inspired by
Fleetwood Diner
in Lansing -- where I wanted to recreate the emotion of having feelings while driving back under those orange lights in the middle of the night.
there's much variation possible there. It can be a drive alone, or a van packed with people. The music might be on... and if it is it can be any diffrernt type of tune... like wise if the music's off then the characters might be listening to something else. Their engine? their AC or the window is open and there is the sound of nature or urban ecology.
