Women belong in the kitchen

or so says this tweet by BurgerKingUK

With additional tweets in the thread, Burger King clarified that this would only apply to women who want to be in the kitchen. Supposedly only 20% of chefs are women, and BK wants to change this ratio by launching a new scholarship program aimed at helping female BK employees pursue their culinary dreams. Most people didn't seem to get that far. The original tweet has 102.5K retweets while the second tweet only has 10K retweets.

Predictably, the twitterati immediately leveled charges of sexism and misogyny. One of my favorite suggestions was that Burger King should change its name to Burger Queen. Whoever is managing BK's Twitter account is not backing down. The account is doubling down and firing off replies to people who are upset by the original tweet.

You have to hand it to Burger King for taking advantage of International Women's Day and getting people riled up. I just enjoy sitting back and watching the drama unfold. I have no vested interest in Burger King. In fact, I actually think it's dog food. Fast food is bad for you anyway, but if I'm going to rage-order in a drive-thru it most certainly won't be Burger King.
WOW you are always dropping the ear raising headlines. lol
