Right on Time

as reply to in the afternoon

Roger woke everyday at 11. In opposition to cold showers and ice baths he took a hot shower. And just laid in his bed for an hour or so looking at the television. Then his phone. His blinds drawn shut. At 1 he got up and went to the cafe. At two was his scheduled coffee, but before that he had lunch a simple sandwich peanut butter, and some days a little honey while driving in. It didn't really matter where it was from. Like it wasn't the local stuff, Roger wanted as many countries as possible to contribute to it. He believed the more the merrier.

His cafe was simple enough. People came in from all over. There was a rule that you couldn't use your laptop, but people still used their phones in the same way. Roger chewed through his sandwich, he wished he'd put honey on it. But oh well, it was too late now, and his saliva soldiered on.

There he was, right on time. Roger's only visitor during the day. He looked at the guy behind the counter, and he was already preparing their drinks. Two single espressos. One with ice, and one just normal, hot.

"Right on time" Roger said.
