"Right. Always thought they were. Fake."
Next time Cal went to the cafe in
Spacecity
he wondered whether he himself thought it felt fake. It was obviously fake. There was no real French or Italian styled cafe up in space. There were fake plastic plants. Fake european architectural facades. Fake music playing through the speakers. The only thing Cal wished was real there were the conversations.
But the next time he was at the cafe he couldn't help but feel those were fake as well. Within two weeks he was at the machines with Keith.
