"Now you just gotta drive."
Stan looked at him then the road. Turning the ignition the engine hummed.
"Nice and slow now, don't attract any attention."
Stan wasn't thinking of that he was just driving. He couldn't think of what was in the trunk. He just had to keep focusing on what was ahead. It was like when you too high up, you can't look down. He just had to make it back to the cafe. Then he'd be safe. Then he'd be okay.
So he drove slow, turned on the signal early. Not early enough to be weird, but early enough to seem normal.
He drove 12 miles in total, they were in the south of the city, and now they stoped in the north. The top of the city he used to say.
They pulled into the garage behind the cafe. The garage door closed behind behind them, and Mr. Green stepped out.
"Good work, now get the uniform on."
Quickly Stan got out of the car and into the barista uniform. He washed his face and put on his black apron. After he was back in the front of the store. And Mr. Green was just moving things around.
"Don't worry, you did good today kid."
