Fuck, Stan thought. Had what just happened, really happened?

"Relax, Stanley boy."

Fuck was he reading his mind?

"I know that must've been... alarming. But I promise you you'll get used to it."

Stanley was too afraid to look over at Mr. Green. He tried to steal a peak when Mr. Green seemed to be focused on the road. Stanley would peer from the side of his eyes. Each time he would expect to get caught looking. But Mr. Green never took his eyes off the road.

Stanley thought, maybe if he were to rush at Mr. Green right now. Then he might have a chance. Mr. Green wasn't looking at him at all. His defenses were down.

Yet still. Stanley knew he didn't have what it took to rush at Mr. Green.

"That's why I brought you on board, Stanley."

He really was reading his mind, wasn't he!

"Because I know you'll be okay with all the bad things. The unsavory."

Mr. Green then turned to look at him. Stanley forced a

. Mr. Green smiled back at him. The face terrified Stanley.
