He was pissed. The cigarette burned.
It was the second time this week that Group A had dropped the ball. Twice in a semester was too much. Twice in one week was a call for action. Something needed to be done. Heads needed to roll.
Ezekiel thought about things. Faces flashed before his eyes. Who could he blame it on. Was it just a systemic issue of the whole organization being 'organized' improperly?
If so that would mean he as the boss was at fault. That was definitely part of the cause. But they didn't have the time to switch at such a grand scale.
Could there be a solution lower down on the hill?
Ezekiel hadn't smoked in years. This week was what brought him back. His nasty habit as Jennifer called it. His promise right as their second born arrived. That he would no longer be a smoker. Not even a casual one.
This week though. It put a number on him. Today instead of grabbing a coffee after the morning meeting, he went to a pharmacy. Picked up a pack of . Trashy that would do the trick. That would make him feel okay with this current situation.
The cigarette burned towards his finger. Soon he would be out. Soon he would try not to light another.
The heat reached his skin. He thought about that new guy in Group B. Keith.
