James counted from the reception, 37 steps to the exit on the east, 82 steps to the one on the west wing, only 12 to the front exit. Big Joe says you never leave out of that one though, people might chase you they can see you, out the back they don’t follow.
There was a roof no access or hard to get out there, not a fire exit. West exit was a fire exit, east used to be, based on the sign but the sensor didn’t look like it would set off an alarm. They don’t need 911 dialled for no reason.
It took him about 10 seconds walking to be in the parking lot. The back of the lot led to the highway. Just one right turn, usually not busy, and you could turn right on red. You want to be fast but not fast enough to look suspicious, don’t want anyone to say that’s out of the ordinary.
James walked the stairs up to his room.
“Should be easy. Should be easy.”
The only thing they haven’t looked at was the office. Although it seemed cookie cutter so it shouldn’t be a problem. Big Joe’s seen enough in his time.
