Someday everyplace would have 

security cameras

. Not because there would be some concentrated government effort. The government was too inefficient for that. Businesses and homeowners would become self interested. Surveillance systems would become popular. Easy to install.

People would think back at times when homes and businesses weren't covered by security cameras and wonder... how did they live like that back then? The shift had already begun. 

Big Joe

noticed them everywhere.

One day it would be impossible to conduct physical robberies the way Joe did. By then he'd be out of the game. Have enough to live off of for the rest of his life. The kid James. He'd need to adjust. How? Big Joe had no clue. That was up to the kid. All Big Joe could do was be real with him. "Look this isn't going to be possible in ten, heck maybe five years. Keep that in mind."

James would shrug it off. Wasn't thinking that far ahead. For all Big Joe could tell the only plans James thought of was what cig he would get next. Or whether he'd get two or three
