Elena liked that shift because of the pace. After a few sips of coffee it seemed amazing and infinite and complete. It felt like she was stealing time. When she was younger she had a fear of time moving too fast. Like it was sand through her fingers. She devised ways to slow it down. Do really boring things, or count, sometimes to make it go slower she would just watch the clock.
She didn't think of time like that now, although sometimes she would look at the clock, over and over again to sort of force her to stay right now.
She would ask herself "Whats happening right now?"
Then in a news anchor voice "Back to our local correspondent Elena, whats happening live on the ground?".
She could do these things now, because there weren't any customers and when their were there wouldn't be too many. So she had that time.
Lots of time.
She took a sip of coffee.
"Okay, I'll start in the front." Then in her head then end in the back so I can hopefully finish my podcast, with out any 'excuse me miss?" or something like that.
She wrote down a small list.
