It was a slow day, but people kept coming in at the wrong time. Interrupting their conversations and making him question whether she was interested. She seemed pre-occupied didn't even mention the youtube video she sent him. A parrot kissing another parrot and saying "Mwah". Maybe it was how he reponded just with "LOL so cute."
She usually took a lunch break, but even this she couldn't. There was something in the back, an order or something. Then the phone rang, when she got back to the table he had to go.
"Yeah, I gotta head home, I'll be back for another cortado though. Mom needs the cat food before lunch, haha."
"Yeah, yeah, uhh no worries." She said this without making eye contact, she then gave him a hug. He was stunned, but returned it.
"Sorry such a weird day!"
"Uhh, its uhh okay, don't worry."
"How was the cortado?"
"Yeah, you know good. I'll get another later so I can really know for sure."
"Okay, okay. See you."
He walked out and found his car. Sat there for too long.
Texted Aaron. "Yo whats good in NYC."
He waited two seconds then started backing up. Another car he realized was waiting for his space. He waved sorry, and drove home.
