It has been more than half a year since I last shared what I'm up to. And I feel like I'm missing something (haha,
FOMO
).
So I thought, why not share what is going on and what I've been up to.
But it is hard to start journalling in English again. I've been writing into Diarly (an App for Mac and iOS) for many months now, but there I'm writing just hands down what is currently in my brain. I've got a streak of 238 days there, although I don't set a daily word goal, so sometimes only two sentences show up, and sometimes more than 800 words come along. At least I'll have some reference if (when) I'm writing my memoirs, hopefully many years in the future.
Besides that, I started to cancel a bunch of subscriptions this year. As you might know, interest rates have increased in Europe, so my mortgage got significantly more expensive. Luckily, I've got the financial buffer (mainly due to my employer changing back in 2022). But I think I always have too many subscriptions, so
Netflix
,
Blinkist
and
Grammarly
had to go.
One thing I finally managed to do was go for a walk regularly. Currently, I'm trying to get out of my Apartment at least three times a week, and for the past weeks of January, that worked perfectly. That also means I finally have time to listen to some blinks, audiobooks and podcasts again. Besides being good for my health, it is also proof to me that I could easily walk a dog daily without any major problems.
And I know I've said in the past I won't get a dog soon, but being in
homeoffice
for more than a year now, I feel like it is time to get a companion for my mental health. But, not yet, as I'm on multiple vacation trips this year where I can't bring a dog.
Let's see if I can get a streak started here again.
