It had been 5 days without food. His mouth was dry. Water he felt would make him hungrier so he tried not to drink. He scavenged the food in the trash for scraps.
He didn’t want to leave felt like something was up. Like a fox smoked from a hole.
He got up sweating light headed and went to the bathroom to splash water on his face. The world spun around, but he drank. Two gulps.
He returned to the bed, and then the pangs of hunger started again.
The door rang hurriedly, and Dave waited. Moved slowly and waited, foot steps receded and still he waited.
Finally he got up and went to the door checking the eye piece and then through the window.
Chinese again.
“You passed the test.” The note said.
