He liked to think of himself as the center. Not like the center of attention, but more, he tried to describe this to Blayne once.
"I feel like Im at the center of it all you know. Like everything must flow through me."
"Like your the main character."
"No different, more like Im. Im just at the center."
Blayned laughed at this, and he had to play it off like he didn't actually feel this way.
Here on the docks in this bar, that is what he was like. Everything went through him. All the chatter, all the ideas, and all the money.
He thought of himself like one of those play dough machines. Turning a unformed roll into spaghetti or stars.
"Yeah, I heard." Lee's raspy voice was close to his ear. His breathe reeked of beer and cigarettes.
"I heard that theres three new guys in town. They're staying at the seaside, and Blayne said. Their bags were heavy."
To this Danny looked up at Lee and he nodded.
"Looks like we'll need the good silverware out tomorrow night then." Danny said, and looked at Lee.
He nodded and backed away from the table.
Danny took a sip of his beer.
