"We're just worried they are gunna come back."
Tom didn't like lying, but sometimes it just happened. Shelly was too quite he needed the cops to know there was a crime committed, not by him, and the people could return. Thats what he told Shelly we could still be in danger.
"We don't want to be attacked if were just at the hotel you know."
The police office despite being near the beach with a nice breeze was hot. A little fan in the corned tried its hardest, but Tom didn't feel any air move.
"They just did something bad." Shelly said.
The cops looked at her then back at Tom.
"We could send a patrol car out later." One of the cops said.
"Yeah, how long you guys gunna be in town?"
"Not, uh." Tom said. Looking over at Shelly. Before this they were going to leave, now they hadn't discussed.
"Maybe a few more nights I think."
"Okay, well thats easy maybe, uh we can send a car over a few nights."
"Is Paul working?"
"Yeah, just put him on it then."
"Yeah, so Paul's on tonight, so yeah your in good hands."
