Her gate wasn't released yet, but she knew. was always gate 6. It didn't matter much besides there weren't many gates. Ten in total, but most of the time only 6 work.
They were supposed to board in an hour. People kept going up to the desk to ask questions. About what, she thought, but didn't know. She was too far. The plane she was taking was small, there wasn't first or second class it was just the plane.
Last time she was on it a lady next to her poked her on the shoulder.
"You know the Lions? Thats Aaron Glenn up there. He's sitting so close to us."
She didn't know at the time but had to look it up, he was a coach but not the main one. Her mom knew though, it seemed like everyone but her probably knew. Just everyone was too polite to say anything.
She looked around at the people sitting near her, one of them could be famous, in their own way or something. Like a famous chef or something. That'd be cool she thought.
She saw a young woman her age dressed like a pilot, she was a pilot.
"Angela is that you?" Another woman said. "Oh my, I haven't seen you for years. What are you a pilot now?"
They started chatting about the past, from what McKayla could hear they went to high school together. One left and the other didn't. They were standing facing each other, and McKayla found that weird.
