"Just so you guys know were closing in like 5 min." the pizza guy said.
Johnny wasn't sure if he was Giorgio or if Giorgio was anyone. Just was happy someone broke the silence.
They looked silently at each other and then got up and left. McKayla almost didn't take her pizza. But it would be useful later, either immediately when they got home or the next day.
Johnny always thought about this, did the math about it. Today two slices of pizza were 7 dollars, but if he split it into meals it would be like 3 dollars. A deal. McKayla he knew thought the same.
They thought the same about most things.
Thats why it was weird. It was so weird they walked out of the restaurant without speaking. Then down the street McKayla wouldn't stay the same pace. Always speeding up or slowing down. It felt like when he was in a kid on the swing sets at the park. Sometimes people would swing next to you "in your shower" other times they would try to avoid it. Slamming their feet on the gravel to slow themselves down.
He felt the same now.
