as reply to the quiet of being alone

"We need 6 farmers omlettes, and 8 eggs over easy. We got a big table truckers."

Max didn't like truckers, there was something that reminded him of his dad. It wasn't like his dad left him, but just wasn't always there.

There was one time when he was younger, he was driving too fast. His car went out of control, and he didn't die, he was fine. But his dad didn't react.

He came home in a cop car, the police told the dad everything, said he was alone, probably a deer ran in front of him.

His dad didn't hug him, just asked if he was good.

He remembered he wanted to cry, but instead he just said yeah.

"Okay." Was all his dad said.

They stood awkwardly at the stairs then his dad went to make dinner.

When his mom got home she wailed and hugged him tightly, but his dad confused him.

So now with these truckers he felt that way. Like they'd all treat their son like that. It made make the food a little worse, cook it longer than it should. It wasn't like he was going to spit it, but it made him not care.

"What you doing man?" Dave said.
