After ordering a few croissants, two scones, and a loaf of sourdough he sat down with a coffee and overlooked the window onto the street. There were decent amount of people walking by. Not like in New York or anything, but more than back home.
He ate one of the croissants as he sipped the coffee. It was plain. But good. Buttery and no extra sugar. A decent snack to wake up with after having drunk the night before. Every few seconds Max checked the location of his car. It was still in the same spot. But he couldn't stop hearing that man's voice.
"Whatever you do, don't leave your car overnight." he had warned.
His mind was coming up with a plan. Bring these baked goods back to Johnny's. Meet his girlfriend, or whatever she was, and eat some bread together. Then he would go and get his car. Drive it back and park it near Johnny's. Then they could go out for a lunch.
Max liked being here for now. Kind of didn't want to go home right away. He knew if he did go home the first thing he'd do was just watching something on his laptop while laying in bed. Sure it wa expensive being out here buying fresh bread and eating out at the restaurants but at least he felt like he was doing something.
The croissant was now gone. He picked up the oily flakes and nibbled. Tasty. He checked the phone one more time. Then he grabbed the brown bag, his coffee cup and headed out.
